When Planning Fails...

As the saying goes...

Failing to plan is planning to fail.

Well, today I had a plan. And it still failed.

Plan: Get up at 5am and get my 21 Day Fix on.

Fail: Turned my alarm off and closed my eyes. Got up at 6 and was still so tired, I could barely open my eyes. Surely a side effect of having a 20-month-old sleeping in my bed (and kicking me in the face) the night before. At least I had planned and prepped this delicious bowl of overnight chia oats. Easy enough to open the fridge and grab a spoon with my eyes half open.
1/2 cup old fashioned oats
1/2 sliced banana
1 tbs raisins
2 tbs chia seeds
cinnamon to taste
1 cups unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1 tbs maple syrup

Mix and refrigerate overnight. Enjoy straight out of the fridge in the morning.

Plan: Do my second 21 Day Fix workout after putting the little munchkin to bed (plus tack on the first one that I missed in the morning.

Fail: Munchkin screamed and cried at bedtime, and mommy didn't emerge from her room until nearly 9pm.

Plan: Put the older munchkin to bed and do BOTH of my workouts that I still hadn't gotten to.

Fail: 5 minutes into the second workout, my DVD freezes. Must be my crappy laptop acting up again, so I stop it and restart. Take 2 - freezes in the exact same spot. I decide the universe is telling me it's time to rest.

Oh well. I tried.
