World's Ugliest Bowl of Oatmeal (and Other Stuff, Too)



Well, I didn't plan on not blogging again until Wednesday... I typed up a long post last night and somehow managed to wipe it out in the process of trying to publish it. Ugh. At that point it was almost 10 pm and I just didn't have the energy to start over.

Anyway...here goes a random assortment of thoughts and happenings from the week so far...

Behold, the world's ugliest bowl of oatmeal! I added some Spiru-tein to my overnight oats a couple nights ago, and it turned green thanks to the spirulina! I guess I never really pay attention to the color when I'm drinking my Spiru-tein shake. It may have been ugly, but it tasted delicious!

1/2 cup of old fashioned oats
1 scoop of vanilla Spiru-tein
1 sliced banana
A few raisins
1 cup of unsweetened vanilla almond milk

I'm having one of those 'off' weeks mentally and emotionally. I don't feel like I'm on top of my game, I'm beating myself up over every little thing, yada yada yada. I'm sure most moms (and probably most women, in general) can relate. I'm not really doing anything in particular to perk myself up - just trying to ride it out and get to the end of the week. I will officially be on vacation as of 5 pm Friday. Yippee!!

My running totally sucks right now. It's not particularly enjoyable, I'm getting slower rather than faster, my shins are constantly sore... I think I may have overtraining syndrome, which sounds a little ridiculous, since there are plenty of people out there who run significantly more than I do. But I really think I ramped up my training too much too soon. I know I could probably benefit from a couple extra days off, but easier said than done for a Type A like me.

Speaking of running, I was up and at 'em bright dark and early this morning! I had plans to go out and schmooze with my sales team over dinner tonight, so I laid out my running gear last night. Knowing that the morning is literally the only time I have to go running is an excellent motivator to get out of bed and do it! Added bonus - I got home from dinner at 7:30 and both kids were in bed by 8:30 and I didn't have to go running after that. I need to remember this the next time I hit the snooze button...
