5 Things Friday #8

TGIF! I was a day ahead of myself for a bit this week, but in retrospect, the week actually did go by pretty fast. I was crazy busy at work this week and I'm one of those weirdos who much prefers being crazy busy to not having much to do.

I missed last week's 5TF, so I'll try to be extra interesting this week. ;-) Here's what I'm loving:

1) Pure Barre - I just wrote about hangin' out at the barre on Monday, and I think it's safe to say I'm hooked! And I especially love being able to walk to and take classes at lunchtime! It's a great way to break up the day, relieve some stress, and free up my evenings to hang with the fam. The downside is the cost. I can't afford to keep it up! :-( Maybe I'll become an instructor so i can take it for free...?

2) Running - Ok, this is a complete 180 from what I was saying/feeling last week. I don't know if it's the low-impact Pure Barre as a counterbalance or the fact that I just stopped trying to get up early in the morning and let myself get the sleep I need during the week (maybe both). Whatever the reason, I really felt my mojo starting to come back this week and it was definitely reflected in my pace.

3) Sleeping - I always love to sleep, but this week in particular, I finally just gave into the fact that really can't hop right out of bed at 5 am and straight out the door to go running anymore (the only reason I can run early on Saturday is because I have the luxury of sitting around drinking my coffee and waking myself up first!). I shut off my 4:55 am alarm and starting sleep straight through until 6 - no more broken sleep and snooze button. I think it has made a world of difference to my energy level.

4) Cooler weather - Before I moved to Atlanta, I considered myself a hot weather gal. After 3 years here, I really appreciate cooler temperatures!! This week we had some nice cool mornings and low humidity. It has been refreshing, and definitely contributed to better running performance. It's much easier to run when you can breathe!!

Sadly, cooler temps won't stick around...

5) FaceTime - We've really been missing being near family recently, so we've been FaceTime-ing with at least one member of the family just about every night. I have no idea what we would do without it! It's especially great for the kiddos to get to see their grandparents.

FaceTime. Be in two places at once.

And with that, I'm off to bed! Tomorrow is my last double-digit run before my half marathon! 12 miles early in the morning. I'll be up before 5 eating my toast and PB, drinking coffee, and stretching!

What are you loving this week?

Any plans for the weekend?
